The 16-bay Dell PowerEdge R760xs server supports PCIe Gen5 technology and a large storage capability. This dual-socket system is commonly used for popular applications including virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), virtual machines, and software-defined storage. It can be configured with 2x 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 64 cores per socket. These CPUs support 16x DDR5 memory module slots for a maximum capacity of 1TB RAM. Memory speeds of up to 4800MT/s are supported. Additionally, two 75W single-width, low-profile GPUs can be installed on the system board.
The air-cooled 2U chassis has variable storage options and can provide up to 12x 3.5” SAS/SATA HDDs/SSDs or up to 16x 2.5” SAS/SATA HDD/SSDs plus up to 8x NVMe drives. It can also be loaded with an additional 2x 2.5” SAS, SATA or NVMe drives on the rear, depending on the drive configuration. It can improve data throughput and reduce latency with support for up to 8x I/O devices including 2x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots, 3x PCIe Gen4 x16 slots, and 1x PCIe Gen4 x8 slot. It also offers 1x OCP 3.0 networking slot and 1x dedicated PERC slot. The Dell OpenManage Enterprise console can be used with iDRAC to consolidate, automate, and simplify one-to-many management.
