Powered by dual 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 64 cores and a TDP of up to 350W, the HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 compute module is housed in the Synergy 12000 Frame and is ideal for general-purpose enterprise workload performance now and in the future. Up to 8TB of HPE DDR5 Smart Memory with speeds up to 5600MHz are supported when all 32x memory module slots are populated. It features drive cage options for 2x or 4x 2.5” SAS/SATA/NVMe drives, 8x EDSFF NVMe E3.S drives, or a drive-less configuration. Similarly, the system supports 2x M.2 NVMe drives depending on the storage controller.
The Synergy 12000 Frame holds up to 12x half-height, 6x full-height single-wide, or 3x full-height double-wide Synergy 480 Gen11 modules. Mixing is allowed. The dual-socket Synergy 480 Gen11 compute module is a great choice for tasks involving VDI, hybrid clouds, data management, and general virtualization. To increase the system’s expandability, there are three x16 PCIe 5.0 mezzanine connectors located towards the rear of the platform, as well as a compute module power and management connector, and storage controller energy pack connection.
The compute module is compatible with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Hyper-V Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, and VMware ESXi. The platform can be securely configured, monitored, and updated both at-chassis and remotely with the support of HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO6) software. 2 Synergy Console on the front of the Synergy 12000 Frame provides Administrators with easy access to HPE OneView for managing one or more frames with additional links to the Consoles from the Frame link Modules. I/O of multiple compute modules is handled through the Synergy 12000 Frame enclosure, which offers up to 6x Interconnect Bays featuring 3+3 for redundancy. 6 Power Supply bays provide N+N or N+1 redundancy.
