The 1U TrueNAS R30 Storage is a 16-bay NVMe data storage array, powered by a single 3rd Generation AMD EPYC processor with up to 64 cores and AMD 3D V-Cache technology. Its front panel houses 12x 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe hot-swap drive bays, complemented by 4x additional internal drive bays. The R30's single-controller hardware is ideal for the most demanding analytics and video editing workloads. Each system supports up to 240TB and can be clustered for multi-petabyte, all-NVMe storage.
The TrueNAS R30 storage system can deliver up to 1024GB of memory when all 16x DIMM slots are populated with 64GB DDR4 RDIMMs running at speeds up to 3200MHz. It features dual M.2 connectors with both SATA 6Gb/s and PCIe Gen4 x4 links to boot the system. Administrators have access to 3x PCIe slots at the rear of the 1U system, which include a PCIe Gen4 x16 FHHL, x16 LPHL, and a x8 LPHL. Additionally, the system supports an OCP 3.0 Gen4 x16 socket for additional network connections. The motherboard comes with 2x integrated 1GbE LAN ports and offers upgrade options for 2x or 4x 100GbE (QSFP28) or 4x 10/25GbE (SFP28) ports. Power is supplied by dual redundant 800W 80 PLUS Platinum PSUs.
The R30 features a dual-port Intel 350-AM2 Gigabit LAN controller and a dedicated RJ45 IPMI port for seamless remote management. Engineered for optimal performance with the TrueNAS SCALE “Bluefin” operating system, it enhances clustering, app support, Kubernetes integration, and leverages ZFS implementation for exceptional reliability and performance. The R30 offers bronze or silver Enterprise support for individual storage solutions, with gold support available for cluster configurations. Additionally, TrueNAS provides compatibility with cloud storage providers such as Amazon, Azure, Google Cloud, BackBlaze, and Dropbox, and ensures comprehensive data replication across all TrueNAS systems.
