The Dell Precision T7810 tower workstation features dual sockets and supports the latest Intel Xeon processors. This platform is ISV certified, and a perfect match for powering through graphics and calculation-intensive workloads.
With dual processors, the Dell Precision T7810 workstation is the runner up to the most powerful workstation Dell offers, the Precision T7910 workstation. This system provides the muscle to run the most demanding software applications and crush large data sets with ease. Rigorous testing ensures reliable and consistent performance between the software and the hardware running industry-leading applications for engineering, architecture, media, entertainment, oil and gas exploration, economics, and financial services.
This system is ISV certified to perform effortlessly running software applications used by designers, engineers, financial analysts, and geologists. ISV is an acronym for Independent Software Vendor and means these independent software vendors have tested the software, hardware, and components to ensure stable and reliable performance. The new Dell workstations are also optimized for the creation of VR content. Contrary to a Mac, which is not powerful enough to run VR content, you can create and actually watch the results of your labors on your Dell workstation. HTC Vive and Oculus Rift VR solutions are supported on this system.
Install either one or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors, or choose from the E5-2600 v4 processor family for even greater performance and more cores. E5 v4 processors will support transfer speeds of up to 2400MHz. Using E5-2600 v3 processors, will reduced the transfer speed to 2133MHz. However, when loading two processors they must be the same model.
A maximum of 256GB of memory is available using eight 32GB DDR4 memory modules in a two processor configuration. Each processor supports four memory slots and users can install either registered DIMM (RDIMM) modules or Load-Reduced DIMM (LRDIMM) modules. With an E5-2600 v4 processor and compatible memory you can expect transfer speeds of up to 2400MHz.
There are plenty of options for storage on this workstation with HDDs, SSDs and NVMe storage devices supported. Intel Cache Acceleration Software for Workstations (CAS-W) is a platter-based storage application for workstations that delivers near SSD speeds at a significantly reduced price than an SSD. CAS-W also supports tiered data storage. Optional MegaRAID 12GB/s PCIe SATA/SAS controllers provide a significant increase in performance over the integrated 6GB/s SATA controller that only supports six ports and RAID of 0, 1, 5, and 10.
There are a bunch of USB ports for connecting external devices, with four up front and six more in back. With six PCI slots, including three express 3.0, two express 2.0 and a legacy PCI slot, there's room to support several additional devices like the optional storage controller mentioned above, a Thunderbolt card, and optional Ethernet cards. A large assortment of professional graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD are supported, including the Nvidia Tesla coprocessor series. With two processors and an 825W power supply, the system will support two full-width graphics cards totaling up to 300W and up to eight monitors.
Dell's Precision Optimizer comes free with the system and takes the guesswork out of customizing the settings for specific supported programs by auto-tuning application settings to maximize performance by up to 121%. There are also several security features including lockable hard drives and power supply, an intrusion sensor, data protection, advanced authentication, and malware protection. Teradici software allows users to remotely access the workstation from virtually anywhere using a browser connection and will support a maximum of two monitors remotely at resolutions of up to 2560 x 1600. Supported operating systems include Windows 7, 8.1, and 10, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu. Patented Reliable Memory Technology (RMT) also helps manage your system by working in conjunction with ECC memory to detect and correct errors in real time.
The Dell T7810 Tower Workstation is quiet under load and very simple to upgrade and repair with easily accessible tool-less access to just about everything. The system is highly adaptable and expandable. You can start out with just a single processor and add another at a later date. It's also got more ports than most users will probably ever need.
