From large workloads to multitasking, the compact Lenovo ThinkStation P520c Workstation tower cakewalks through it all. With next-generation processing, graphics, storage, and memory, this workstation tower is very energy efficient and reliable. It is prepared to take on heavy workloads including ISV certified applications and VR.
The Lenovo ThinkStation P520c Workstation tower is fueled by the latest Intel Xeon W processors along with support for high-end graphics cards including the Nvidia Quadro P5000. This compact workhorse offers powerful performance to tackle demanding workloads, at a price that won’t break the bank. The P520c can be configured to meet your specific needs with up to 128 GB of memory plus M.2 NVMe options for blistering-fast storage speeds.
Lenovo Thinkstation P520 Workstation
This workstation features Intel’s C422 chipset, which supports a single Intel Xeon W family processor with up to 18 cores. Paired with two Nvidia Quadro P4000 cards, this ThinkStation can attack highly complex workloads with ease. The single processor supports four memory memory channels and will support up to two high-performance graphics cards, SLI is not supported.
Storage is not an issue for the Lenovo P520c Workstation tower, which can support up to four SAS or SATA HDDs or SSD drives using the internal storage bays plus the 5.25-inch media bays on the front of the system. Only SATA is supported natively but with the addition of an optional Broadcom 9440-8i, it will support both SATA and SAS drives at 6Gbs/12Gbs, respectivley. In addition, you can install up to five M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs with two onboard M.2 slots, and three more that can be installed in three PCIe x4 adapters, each of which supports a single M.2 storage device. With four 3.5-inch drives, and two M.2 drives on the system board, the system will support a maximum of 18TB. Outfitted with four 2.5-inch drives, plus the onboard M.2 drives, delivers up to 10TB of storage. The M.2 NVMe drives can be RAIDed with an optional NVMe RAID upgrade that supports RAID configurations of 0 and 1.
Each of the four memory channels supports a single Registered DIMM (RDIMM) module operating at up to 2666MHz. The P520c Workstation tower will support a total of 128GB with all four slots loaded with 32GB memory modules. In addition, the memory is protected with error correcting code (ECC), which detects and then corrects single-bit memory errors whether it be a hard error caused by physical factors or soft errors where the data is written and or read differently. No matter the problem, Lenovo’s ECC memory will identify and fix it before it becomes your problem.
There are four PCIe 3.0 slots on the system board and all are active since there is only a single processor. PCIe slots include, two PCIe 3.0 x16, one PCIe 3.0 x8, and one PCIe 3.0 x4 slots. The x8 and x4 both support 25W while the x16 slots support up to 75W. The system can support a single NVIDIA Quadro P5000 plus one Quadro P2000, or up to two Quadro P4000 cards. It also supports a maximum of two graphic adapters under 75W. Expansion slots can also be used for additional M.2 storage and extra USB Type-C ports. There are two USB 2.0 slots, four USB 3.0, one RJ-45 ethernet, three analog audio ports and two PS/2 slots all located on the back of the system. On the front, you’ll find two USB 3.0 slots, one microphone jack, and one headphone jack. Two 5.25-inch medial bays on the front of the system can also be configured to support optional ports including, COM ports, Thunderbolt, and an eSATA port on the flex module. If you install the Quadro P5000 or dual graphics cards from the other options, the lower internal Storage bay will be unavailable.
The Lenovo P520c Workstation tower comes with several integrated management features. Lenovo’s ThinkStation Diagnostics for windows detects problems and helps to identify a solution to make sure the system runs at peak performance. Intel Active Management Technology 11 enables IT managers to discover and repair probelms, ensuring the safety of networked computing assets. Lenovo’s remote maintenance and wireless manageability tool helps you save time with simple, secure access to the system. The Lenovo Vantage app is an optional management software that will help users run their ThinkStation up to date and also helps you get the most out of your system.
For true processing power and blazing-fast visuals, power up the Lenovo ThinkStation P520c Workstation tower. Intel’s Xeon W processor deliver exceptional performance with fast memory, M.2 NVMe storage, and high-end graphics support. The system is adaptable, and can be configured to support user specific needs in a compact, very affordable chassis.
