With only a single Intel Xeon E, Core X, or Celeron processor the Supermicro SuperWorkstation 5039C-T is part of Supermicro’s entry-level workstations. It supports Nvidia graphics plus up to 64GB of DDR4-2666 memory, with four upfront 3.5-inch drive bays that can be augmented with four more 2.5-inch drives.
This platform can be outfitted with Nvidia Quadro professional GPUs and is designed for CAD and light 3D modeling applications. The Supermicro SuperWorkstation 5039C-T offers ample storage with four hot-swap drives in front and an option to install four more. It also supports M.2 drives directly on the motherboard for superfast storage or for use as a boot drive.
You can install either, a single Intel Xeon E-Series processor, a Core i9/i7/i3 processor, or an Intel Celeron or Pentium processor with up to 6 cores. Top thermal design point is 95W.
DDR4 memory modules operating at up to 2666MT/s are supported on this system. The Supermicro 5039C-T has a total of four memory module slots and supports a total capacity of 64GB of ECC or non-ECC UDIMM memory modules.
As on Supermicro’s other SuperWorkstations this one offers up to eight internal drives with four 3.5-inch front bays along with an optional 2.5-inch drive cage that supports up to four more drives. you can also install two NVMe M.2 drives directly on the motherboard for additional storage or to boot the system. Eight SATA ports on the system board can support all eight drives at 6Gb/s. RAID is supported at 0, 1, 5, and 10.
There are six expansion slots on the motherboard not counting the integrated M.2 slots. Two of the slots are x16 for either one high-performance Nvidia Quadro graphics card. In addition to the integrated network port on back of there are also several options for PCIe mounted network cards offering different connection speeds.
Several LEDs on the front of the system provide a visual indication of the health status of the workstation and include, power, hard drive activity, network activity, and system information. The Supermicro SuperDoctor provides both local and remote monitoring of the system health through a standard browser and features a slick graphic user interface.
The Supermicro SuperWorkstation 5039C-T is one of Supermicro’s entry-level systems with support for a single processor and 64GB of memory. It’s designed for AutoCAD and light 3D rendering. This system is also compatible with Nvidia’s professional Quadro GPUs for increased performance rendering complex shapes.
